View the Mailing List Junk Mail Quarantine

To view the junk mail quarantine for your mailing list:

  1. Log in to the administrative page for your list by logging in to University of Chicago Mailing Lists and selecting your mailing list from the left navigation bar, or by logging in at https://lists.uchicago.edu/web/admin/[listname].
  2. On the left menu towards the bottom, click Junkmail.

Note: Only owners and privileged owners can view to a list's junk mail quarantine. Moderators and subscribers do not have access to this feature.


View a Mailing List Archive

To view a mailing list archive:

  1. Log in to the administrative page for your list by logging in to University of Chicago Mailing Lists and selecting your mailing list from the left navigation bar, or by logging in at https://lists.uchicago.edu/web/admin/[listname].
  2. Click Archive. The Archive page displays all the posts to the mailing list for the past year. It is ordered by month, and can display the posts by thread or in chronological order.

Download a Mailing List Archive

To download the archives for a mailing list:

  1. Log in to the administrative page for your list by logging in to University of Chicago Mailing Lists and selecting your mailing list from the left navigation bar, or by logging in at https://lists.uchicago.edu/web/admin/[listname].
  2. Click Admin > Manage Archives.
  3. Select the archived messages you want to download and click Download Zip File to download the messages as a zip file.

  1. Log in to the administrative page for your list by logging in to University of Chicago Mailing Lists and selecting your mailing list from the left navigation bar, or by logging in at https://lists.uchicago.edu/web/admin/[listname].
  2. Click Admin > Edit List Config > Archives.

Definitions of Mailing Lists Archive Settings

Web Archives: Access right: This field indicates who has access to the web archives for your mailing list.
ClosedNo one to be able to view the archives for the email list.
Restricted to local domain usersAnyone on the local network may view the archives for your mailing list.
ListmasterOnly the listmaster can view the archives for your mailing list.
By ownerOnly the list owners can view the archives for you mailing list.
Subscribers onlySubscribers, moderators, and list owners can view the archives for your mailing list.
PublicAnyone can view the archives for your mailing list.

Text archives: This setting cannot be changed.

Archive encrypted mails as cleartext: This field indicates how you want encrypted messages to be stored in the web archives.
DecryptedUse this setting to decrypt encrypted messages and store them as plain-text.
OriginalUse this setting to leave retain the encryption on encrypted messages in the web archive.
Email address protection method This field indicates if and how to obscure email address links in the archives to prevent scraping (and subsequent spam) by robots. This is particularly important for lists with public archives.
AtReplaces @ with at in email addresses.
CookieRequires a cookie for archive access. Users must submit a small form in order to receive a cookie before browsing the archives. This blocks all robots, including search engines such as Google.
JavascriptObscures email addresses with a javascript link. This option makes the javascript necessary to view the email address.
NoneNo protections against robots in place in the web archive.
