vCalendar (.vcs) Files

A .vcs file contains information about an event or appointment, which can be imported into a calender or scheduling program; saved in the vCalendar "Electronic Calendaring and Scheduling Exchange" format; includes the event date and time and other information about the event.

.VCS files can be imported and exported by several programs, including Microsoft Outlook and Apple Calendar.

Import into Mac

  1. Find the .vcs file on your desktop.
  2. Open the calendar view in Outlook 2016.
  3. Drag and drop the .vcs file into the calendar body.
  4. Events will automatically populate the calendar.

Alternate Method:

  1. Find the .vcs file on your desktop.
  2. Control-click on the file.
  3. Select Open With Outlook.
  4. Click Save or Close for any windows that may appear regarding a past event or the next scheduled event.
  5. The calendar view should now show your imported appointments.
