UChicago Sites vs UChicago Voices/Blogs

This article explains the differences between UChicago Sites and the UChicago Voices, the UChicago blogging service.

The University of Chicago provides a number of tools for website creation. If you want a site with official University branding or if you want custom development (for a fee), you should request an UChicago Site. If you are looking to create a class blog, fill out the course blog request form; to create a personal website for academic purposes, log in to Blog Creation Self-Service page with your CNetID and password and complete the form. voices.uchicago.edu/[name] for all sites.
1. Redirects can be requested for UChicago Template sites (e.g. [name].uchicago.edu pointing to voices.uchicago.edu/[name]).
2. Domain mapping (where both [name].uchicago.edu and voices.uchicago.edu/[name] point to the same site and [name].uchicago.edu is preserved throughout the site) is reserved for special circumstances on custom Voices sites.
