Outlook 2010 - Storing Email Offline (Windows)

This article explains how to store email offline using Outlook 2010.

Please read all steps before taking action.

You will need to create a set of personal folders that are stored on your computer.
If you haven't already created a set of personal folders visit the link below for instructions.

  1. Right-click on Personal folders to create a new folder, if needed.

  2. Right-click on the item(s) and mouse over "Move" in the context menu.
If the folder you want is visible click on the folder to remove the message from the server and move it to the folder.
Again, it's important to note that clicking on a folder will move the message to location you choose and remove it from the server.
If you've chosen to move to a folder, you're done.

If you chose "Copy to Folder..." in order to leave the original message on the server, see the next step.

  3. After clicking Copy to Folder... the "Copy Items" dialog box appears.
Select the folder ("Turtles Hate Me" is selected in the example image) and click OK.
    Congratulations, you're done!
