New people are hired every day at the University of Chicago. So, how should you go about adding and making changes for the ever variable University population?
If someone has just been hired into your department, it is your job to claim him/her as your reviewee. The first thing you should do is log into the Reviewer Site at reviewers.uchicago.edu.You should then go to “Search for Reviewees” and type in the person’s name. Once you have found him/her in the search results, you should click the “Add to Reviewees List” button next to the name. You can now add information by clicking on “Add Contact Entry” at the top of the page. Sometimes, you may not know very much about someone when he/she is first hired, such as what phone number she will be assigned. So, fill in what information you do know and then either you or she (using self-edit) can always include more information later. Two things that you must include at first are a title and departmental information. The title is required to save the page and the departmental information is important because then the person will be included in the department list. Sometimes it can take several weeks for a new hire to be included in the Reviewer Site. If it has been more than three weeks, it would be best to contact your HR department because your new person may have gotten lost in the shuffle.
Temporary employees should appear in the directory, but contractors, who are temporary account holders, will not.
Also, you may have to manage current students who are working as staff. If you have a student employee and need to modify his/her Directory listing, please contact the Directory Office. If your student employee becomes a regular staff member, you can claim them just as you would any other staff member.
