SharePoint 2010 - Assigning Permission Levels to Groups

This article explains how to assign an existing permission level to a SharePoint group.

You must be a site owner or site collection administrator in order to perform the actions in this article.

  1. Select Site Actions and then Site Permissions.
  2. Check the box next to the appropriate group and click the Edit User Permissions button in the ribbon.
  3. On the Edit Permissions window, check the appropriate permission levels and click OK.
    The permission levels currently assigned to all groups in the site are displayed in the 3rd column of the list.
