Chalk - Turn On the Media Tool within a Course (Instructors)

This article explains how to incorporate Kaltura media tools for video recordings and management within your Chalk course site.

Why use video?

Many Instructors enhance their courses by incorporating video into their teaching style. Using video is a dynamic way to keep students focused on the learning experience. Kaltura is a third-party vendor that streams large video files for the University. This feature integrates with Chalk, but needs to be made available in the Tools list.

Enable the Media Tool

  1. In the Control Panel, select Customization and Tool Availability.
    Control Panel Drop-down Menu

  2. Scroll down to Kaltura Media and Kaltura Mashup, click the Available and Available in Content Area checkboxes (first and last columns).
    Tool Availability Checkboxes

  3. Scroll down to Media Gallery, click the Available checkbox (first column).
    Media Gallery Checkboxes

  4. Click the Submit button.
    Submit Button

The Course Gallery tool is now available in the list of tools.
