SharePoint 2010 - Request Access To A Site

This document explains how to request access to a SharePoint 2010 site.

The following message is displayed when access is denied to a SharePoint site or an area of a site to which you don't have access.

Access Denied Error

Click Request Access to be presented with an access request form. On the form enter the URL that you are unable to access and then click Send Request. The request will be sent to an administrator of that site who will provision the appropriate access.

Request Access Form

If the Request Access link does not appear, access requests have not been configured for this site. In this case, please contact the administrator for the site and request that they configure this capability for the site and/or grant access. View the Site Directory for a list of site administrators and contact information. Please note that it is the site administrator's responsibility to provide access to their site; IT Services cannot do so in their absence.
