Business Objects - Launch Pad - Pulling Active Awards in a Time Period

This article explains how to add criteria to a data provider in BI Launch to pull Awards/Grants/Contracts that are active during a time period.

This logic is usually added to organizational unit or other conditions to get the Restricted Fund (award/grant/contract) accounts for a unit that were active during a time period.

To pull these accounts, you only want to pull the records (aka rows) of SL acct6 or SL acct10 data for the months in a given range. You can use the predefined CalYrMo condition for a range of months or create your own (see the last line in the image below).

For the records in this date range, you only want the restricted fund accounts that both started before the end of the date period (Award begin date less than or equal to end of date range) and that ended after the start of the date period (Award End date greater than or equal to the start of the date range).

An example of the manually created conditions are as follows:

Note the Award Begin and End date conditions do not have to be shifted to the right (or nested), as all the conditions are connected with Ands. They are displayed here that way to delineate them together.
