Business Objects - Launch Pad - Pull Active Awards in a Time Period

This article explains how to add criteria to a data provider in BI Launch to pull Awards/Grants/Contracts that are active during a time period.

To pull awards, grants, or contracts that are active during a specified time period, you must add the criteria to a data provider in BI Launch.

This logic is usually added to an organizational unit or other conditions to get the restricted fund (award/grant/contract) accounts that were active during a time period for that unit.

To pull these accounts, you only need to pull the records (rows) of SL Account 6 or SL Account 10 data for the months in a given range. You can use the predefined CalYrMo condition for a range of months or create your own, as shown in the last line in the image below.

For the records in this date range, you only need the restricted fund accounts that both started before the end of the date period (Award Begin Dt less than or equal to end of date range) and ended after the start of the date period (Award End Dt greater than or equal to the start of the date range).

Here is an example of the manually-created conditions:

Note: the Award Begin Dt and Award End Dt conditions do not have to be shifted to the right (or nested), as all the conditions are connected with And. They are displayed here that way to better illustrate the concept.
