BI Launch Pad - Hiding Columns in a table or Crosstab

This article explains how to hide a column of data in a table or crosstab, so it can be sorted or filtered, without appearing.

Sorting a table or cross tab requires that the sorted object be in the table. Also some calculated fields may require their component objects be in the table or cross tab.  However having these objects displayed may not be desirable.

Note you can only Hide a Dimension or Detail, not a Measure

To hide a column (or Row) in a table or cross tab;

  1. Right click on the Object field to be hidden
  2. Select Hide and then Hide Dimension on the popup menu
HideColumn
To un-hide a column, click on any object in the table or cross tab and select Hide | Show Hidden Dimensions on the popup menu.
