Business Objects - Launch Pad - Sharing Reports

This article describes how to share Business Objects reports.

You can share your Business Objects reports in several ways, depending on if they are also a Business Objects (BO) user.

  • For a non-BO user you can export the report to an Excel or PDF document and then share it with them (i.e via email or Box). Box is recommended for security purposes, if email is used the data should be secured with a password if possible.
  • For a BO user, you can either share an exported document (above) or send them a copy of the document to their inbox that they can use themselves.

  • Make sure you know the CNetID for the person you want to send the report to.
  • They will need to have access to the subject area (i.e. FR-TT, PAR, HR, SDW, etc) of the report in order to use it.
  • The report should have no saved data (different individuals have security access to different data and you shouldn't disclose information that others may not have access or a reason to see)
