Chalk - Make Course Available or Unavailable (Instructors)

This article explains how instructors can change the availability of a Chalk course site, which limits a student's access to the course.

Instructors can make their Chalk course sites unavailable to students. This will allow them to upload content, create tests and design their course without students being able to enter the course site. Once the instructor is ready, they can make the Chalk course site available to students.

If the Instructor sees the term "unavailable" next to their Chalk course name, this just means it is unavailable to students. Instructors can always enter their Chalk course sites.

  1. In the Control Panel, under Customization, click Properties to view the current settings for your course.
    Course Availability Menu

  2. Scroll to the Set Availability section, choose appropriate Yes/No answer to Make Course Available.
    Set Availability Yes Radio Button

  3. To save availability setting, click Submit. A confirmation message will appear at the top.
