Email - Set Up Email Forwarding

This article explains how to set up email forwarding.

Forwarding Your University Email

If you forward email from your @uchicago.edu account, you are required to forward the email to a mailbox you routinely monitor. For more information on email at the University, visit our Email Options page.  Please note that you may not forward your @uchicago.edu address to another @uchicago.edu address.  However, you may forward your @uchicago.edu address to a @something.uchicago.edu address.

In order to forward your @uchicago.edu email address, visit Mail Forwarding and do the following:

  1. Log in with your CNetID and password.

  2. Select the User defined radio button.

  3. Enter the address to which you want your mail forwarded.

  4. Click Submit. Your @uchicago.edu email should now forward to the account you chose.

Ending Email Forwarding

To stop forwarding email, visit Mail Forwarding and do the following:

  1. Log in with your CNetID and password.

  2. Select the radio button for one of the other Email Options.

  3. Click Submit.

Note to alumni: at this time, you cannot turn off @uchicago.edu forwarding once you have activated it. Should you wish to do so, email alumni-support@uchicago.edu and request that your email forwarding be disabled.
