Mailing Lists - Information for Non-CNetID Users
This article explains how to log in and subscribe to a public mailing list at the Mailing Lists website with a non-CNetID email.
Log in to the Lists website
If you're using a non-CNetID email address, you will use that email address and a system generated Lists password to log in to the Lists website.
Get a Lists Password
The first time you log in to the Lists website with a non-uchicago.edu email address, click First login? in the login box. Enter your email address and click Send me my password. The system-generated password will be emailed to the email address that you entered. After you receive your system-generated password, you can subscribe to a mailing list.
Subscribe to a Mailing List
A non-CNetID email address may subscribe to a public lists. A list owner may subscribe you, or you can ask to be subscribed to an email list on the Lists website. To submit your request to subscribe to an email list, select the email list from the List of Lists page. Click Subscribe in the left navigation bar. Click OK in the confirmation dialog box to confirm that you want to subscribe. After you subscribe to a list, you'll be required to enter the system-generated password. If someone subscribes you to a list, you'll need the system-generated password to log in to the Lists website.
