Mailing Lists - Unsubscribe from an Email List
This article explains how to unsubscribe from an email list via the Mailing List Service.
To unsubscribe from a mailing list, first you must log in to the Mailing List Service as the email address to which you would like unsubscribed from a list. Many users have multiple email addresses so keeping track can get tedious. Look at the "To:" header in a recent email sent to you from the mailing list to determine which address is subscribed.
Users without a University of Chicago CNetID who are subscribed to a list must also log in to unsubscribe themselves. If you forgot your password then you can click on Lost password? to have it emailed to you.
Once logged in, you can end your subscription to an email list on our Mailing List Service by clicking the email list on the left navigation bar, then clicking Unsubscribe. Select the Yes option on the confirmation page to unsubscribe from the email list.
Note: Your department may require that you be subscribed to certain internal email lists, so the list owner may reject your attempt to unsubscribe.
You may also unsubscribe by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the word "UNSUBSCRIBE" in the body of the message. The email you send must be "From:" an email address that is subscribed to the list.
