Chalk - Submit an Assignment (Students)

This article explains how students submit assignments to their instructors in Chalk 9.1.

Why create an Assignment?

The Assignment tool is used to present a variety of learning activities to you as a student, allowing you to view and submit assignments from one location. It replaces the Digital Drop Box, which is no longer available in Chalk 9.1.

The Instructor must create an Assignment first in any Chalk content area, prior to the student being able to submit the assignment back to the instructor. The instructor will then download the student assignments via the Grade Center.

How Students Submit an Assignment to their Instructor:

  1. In the Chalk course site, locate the area where the assignment has been posted, then click the Assignment Name. An assignment can be posted in any content area, so be sure to consult your instructor.

  2. On the Submission page, enter any comments for the instructor, then click the Browse My Computer button to locate the file to be submitted.

  3. Click the Submit button to submit the assignment to the Instructor.

Note: The Save as Draft button does not submit the assignment. This button only saves a copy of the assignment for you to work on at a future date.
